Chapter 6

Seeing that tablet, Fang Guo felt the hairs on his back stand on end.

He wanted to throw the tablet out, yet his limbs had stiffened.

The temperature of the room suddenly plummeted, the lights flickering on and off. Fang Guo swallowed his spit, backing a step, to collide with something.

Stopping, he remembered that there was absolutely nothing behind him, since nothing was put there.

A chuckle floated by his ear, a cold breath puffed onto his nape, and instantly his skin crawled with goosebumps.

His earlobe was being sucked on, as if savouring a delicious treat, being pinched with strength. There was a feeling like he was going to be eaten.

Fang Guo shook in fear, and the corners of his eyes reddened.

He was so soft, so pitiful, so nice to bully.

He whimpered a plea, and was then pushed down onto the round wooden table, his clothes lifted up and his hands bound. His delicate body was exposed like an offering, bared before the ghost.

That was the most beautiful sacrifice, greatly pleasing the ghost.

The ghost’s treasure, the ghost’s heart, the ghost’s greed.

He could finally possess this treasure, receiving what he wanted.

Wei Ran was covered all over in blood and sin, giving a dark and twisted smile. Then bit by bit, he began to slowly savour his meal.

Fang Guo was truly terrified, whimpering pleas, and in the end was gasping, moaning and begging.

Unable to bear the thrusts into his deepest and most fragile parts, he put aside his pride and dignity as a man, to beg for mercy. Hoping to receive even a shred of pity from the man above, to let him off, and let him down from the peak of bliss.

“What do you want? I’ll get you the best master, to help you pass on, send you to be reincarnated. Burn paper money, women—no, men, burn lots of paper people—could you let me off? I’m begging you let me off…”

In this time Fang Guo was begging like this, but seemed to have provoked Wei Ran, who proceeded to toy with him until he broke down. Shaking his head, his hair scattered, soaking wet. The corners of his eyes were reddened, tears having been forced out, and his mouth and tongue invaded and occupied until he could not close it, the crimson tip of his tongue poking from his lips, which attracted the man above to invade again.

In the end, Fang Guo’s begging turned into this—“Wu, er ah don’t… let me off It hurts…. please, no…”

Fang Guo cried as he fell apart, invaded by Wei Ran.

He had also asked Wei Ran why treat him like this, but Wei Ran did not answer, only continuing to thrust into him.

From daytime until the skies darkened, the lights did not turn on, leaving only weak starlight.

Fang Guo had also moved from the living room to the bed, sitting on the man’s body, both legs looped around the man’s waist, both hands hugging the man’s head. Being thrust into from bottom-up, he was powerless and exhausted all over, his voice gone hoarse to the point of only being able to gasp, whimpering only when a particularly fierce thrust went deep and he could not take it.

The final rush was both fast and fierce, and Fang Guo gave a fleeting shriek, when inside his body hot liquid spurted. Only then did the intense exercise stop.

Wei Ran held Fang Guo and changed a position, and Fang Guo thought that he was coming another time, struggling out of fear.

“No, don’t, I’m begging you, no…”

Wei Ran held him, giving a few placating words: “Be good, won’t do any more. Sleep.”

Fang Guo started, and his nerves finally relaxed. Then he realised, this seemed to be the first time he had heard Wei Ran’s voice. Perhaps Wei Ran had spoken that night in the bridal chamber, yet he was in a daze, and did not hear.

Wei Ran patted Fang Guo’s back beat by beat, gentle and indulgent.

With someone pampering him, the grievance he received just increased.

Fang Guo thus began his wronged inquiry: “Why me?”

Wei Ran paused, and then chuckled and began to tell a story.

Once there was a clan, surnamed Wei.

Speaking of a clan, they were more like a village.

All sharing the same surname.

Afterwards the village met upon a series of mishaps in quick succession, and they invited a female medium only to realise then that the family grave had been tampered with by a fengshui master. Although they later invited a fengshui master to break that malicious fengshui arrangement, yet the luck of the Wei family village had been damaged.

Then later, the Wei family village chief invited another fengshui master, and sought out another precious fengshui spot, and used secret forbidden arts to remake the Wei family luck.

That secret art was an evil art, to slowly break down the most pure-blooded Wei descendant, and bury them into the fengshui spot. Scatter black dog’s blood outside, bury white lime within the burial mound, leaving the deceased unable to release their last qi, their body never decaying, their resentment rocketing to the skies, yet suppressed by the black dog’s blood. Even if the resentment dissipated, the soul would be trapped in the grave and unable to reincarnate.

This was because they needed the corporeal body of the deceased to remake the Wei family’s luck.

The deceased had originally been broken down to death, their last qi choking in their throat. They could reincarnate once they came out, but if not they would turn into a Jiangshi and harm people. Yet upon burial the body had been ensured not to rot, and without the corporeal body rotting, the soul could not leave the body for too long a time.

Unable to escape, with no way to reincarnate, trapped in the coffin, and treated as a sacrifice to maintain the clan’s luck.

Upon thinking about it they would resent more, and resenting more brought more hate, and the more they hated the more they were unable to reincarnate, so in the end they would change into a fierce ghost.

Thus Wei Ran was a fierce ghost, and having passed ten years, his ability was too strong, and began to take revenge. In the end the Wei family so as to pacify his anger, agreed to let him out and also arrange a ghost marriage for him, yet behind his back changed targets to Wei Wei.

Fang Guo could not help but ask: “So, why me?”

Wei Ran touched Fang Guo’s naked back, and said in fascination: “Do you know who was the medium they invited?”

In an instant, Fang Guo thought of his grandmother, and the large landowner in the neighbouring village.

Thinking about it, where would there be a large landowner in that time, it was merely the village chief’s home.

And that village chief, was probably clan leader of the Wei village.

Fang Guo’s face paled: “So you hate my grandmother for telling the Wei family village to invite a fengshui master, and took out your anger on me?”

Wei Ran kissed Fang Guo’s shoulder: “No, I only fell in love with you.”

Of course he did not fall in love during that time, he only had a deep impression, when he truly fell in love, it was because of Wei Wei.

Wei Ran and Wei Wei were siblings, and when Wei Wei came to pray and give offerings, Wei Ran found out that he could possess Wei Wei’s body. The distance he could move was not restricted, and the time could extend a bit.

Wei Wei was indeed Fang Guo’s classmate, in the same school but not the same class.

Wei Ran possessing Wei Wei’s body knew that Wei Wei was secretly in love with someone, and went to look at him out of curiosity. And due to a familiarity, remembered that he had seen him before.

Due to this familiarity and goodwill, he paid more attention to Fang Guo.

Then his attention became a habit, and then became an obsession to gain possession.

“So this was all because you came with your grandmother to the Wei family village and got my attention, otherwise…” How would I love you so much?

Fang Guo suddenly thought about something, and turned around to ask him: “Wei, Wei family village… how is it now?”

Wei Ran silently observed him, and after a while said: “It’s still fine.”

Fang Guo was doubtful: “Really?”

Wei Ran: “You’re scared that I’ll avenge on them? Hehe, when you left I was constantly following you, I put my tablet in your luggage, even if I wanted to take revenge I could not. Guoguo, don’t think about finding someone to absolve me, it’s not that the Wei family village didn’t think about it. But my obsession is you, if you want me to reincarnate, you’ll have to disappear first.”

Fang Guo could not determine his exact feelings, and shrank back into his shell.

As he heard Wei Ran’s past he felt that it was not easy to deal with him, and indeed getting him to reincarnate would not be easy. So he thought about taking it slow, that one day he would find a way. Otherwise, after using up all the sentiment that Wei Ran had for him, he would probably be free then.

Fang Guo thought it out like this, and in the future would carry out this plan.

Wei Ran smiled, and locked Fang Guo into his embrace. Behind his back, he was still dark and prejudiced to the extreme.

He may not have killed the people of Wei family village, but there was still Wei Wei.

Wei Ran had a frail body, yet he was only slightly weaker compared to the average person. Yet those people force-fed him medicines, either giving him too many supplements or too weak in nutrition, breaking his body down until his death. Wei Wei was originally healthy, yet since young was force-fed medicines, turning her body weak.

In the end Wei Ran prevailed, after getting out and killing a few people, the people of Wei family village pacified him on the surface, and after agreeing to release him, turned around to kill Wei Wei.

After Wei Ran knew, he was already too late to do anything. Yet he hated Wei family village even more.

Yet Wei Wei hated the Wei family village more than him, she was originally healthy, and had been healthy, yet they had broken her body, until she died.

That hate, the resentment lingered in her chest for more than a decade, and on the day she died, it pressed on her such that in a few days she underwent corpse transformation.

After Wei Ran and Fang Guo married and left, Wei Ran had damaged the array before Wei Wei’s grave, allowing Wei Wei to enter and leave freely.

Wei Wei waited until the pair left, and then began the massacre.

Two years later.

Fang Guo had just finished visiting his friend Li Wei, and returned home.

There was already a hot meal waiting for him when he got back, as well as long-arranged slippers.

Once he entered, Fang Guo was then carried off his feet, with someone there to change his slippers, to make the meals, to prepare the bath, and after eating the fruits were even automatically fed to him.

At home, Fang Guo was like an emperor, being indulged.

While eating Fang Guo talked to Wei Ran about Li Wei, also mentioning unit 404. The youth staying there, was probably in a similar situation to himself, having participated in a ghost marriage, and become a ghost’s wife.

In the deep night, Fang Guo hugged Wei Ran above him, closing his eyes as a soft cheerful snort spilled out, clinging onto Wei Ran’s body, as he slowly reached the peak of pleasure.

Fang Guo did not expect, what was originally a long-term plan, had him play house with a ghost for two years. Until now, it was unexpectedly him who could not leave Wei Ran.

No matter who, after being take care of in any matter for two years, if he left that person, he would probably be crippled.

Wei Ran still carried a morbid infatuation and possessiveness of Fang Guo, and Fang Guo did not know whether he loved Wei Ran or not, he just knew, the him right now, could not leave Wei Ran.

There was nothing bad about this, as a partner Wei Ran was excellent.

Aside from not being human.

Everything was well.

Fang Guo got used to it, henceforth he would not change it.

  1. I will think that Fang Guo fell in love with Wei Ran. He is not aware yet after two years. Maybe few years more. I enjoyed the story. Thanks a lot!

  2. Wow Fang Guo got Stockholm Syndrome… Oh well, I think this is alright for an ending. Before, I thought he was going to get killed by ML so he can be joined in the afterlife xD

thanks for translating this short story 🙂 It was a good, quick read.

  3. To be fair, if I got a partner who attends to my needs and does the household chores, I would be almost sold, even if they’re not exactly human lol. I just need them to be emotionally and mentally supportive as well and let me be my own person, none of that jealousy bs on me.

But surprisingly, despite how possessively obsessive the novel describes Wei Ran is like, it doesn’t seem like he stops Fang Guo from going out with his friends, as seen in the Ghost Wife. Also unlike the couple in that one-shot, Fang Guo didn’t get offed so they can be together.

Thanks Blackbox for another completed translation!! I like the horror setting in this one. Maybe another horror story in time for Halloween? 😀

    1. I know it I’m not alone with this kind of idea! 😂😂

I feel so cheap but I think again it’s really totally okay. At least someone willing to take care of me. Even the one who take care of me isn’t human or human not a problem at all! 😂😂

  4. Well ML ghost is more faithful than an alive person so I im all for it for the ML. I mean what can you want more when you already have a perfect lover? Ill also pick ML if i were mc.

  5. In the beginning, it was a bit creepy, but then again, Wei Ran’s devotion was kinda sweet but a tad obsessively scary! I guess there’s nothing Fang Guo could do until he breathes his last breath eh? But at least, Wei Ran isn’t crazy so that both of them can still have a normal relationship! I wonder how about Wei Wei? Poor twins…being sacrificed that way! I hope Wei Wei could find her own happy ending…

  6. the end of this novel reminds me of the lyrics of Rocío Dúrcan:
“There is no doubt that the custom
    It is stronger than love…”

  7. That family Wei was truly despicable. Trash. Good to know Wei wei avenged for the two of them. And it’s great Fang Guo is happy with his current situation.

    Thanks for this novel!!

  8. Hmm. Not sure how I feel about this. Thank you for the wonderful Translation work though. Really appreciate it. Take care.

  9. Love can begin in hate, but most begins in sympathy. After FG heard of WR’s family’s circumstances, he sympathized until his hate disappeared. There’s also might be some pleasure of being crushed on, and also acceptance after having done something intimate with WR. Added with two years of pampering, then FG definitely fell in love. Two years might not be enough to wholly proclaim it is love, but the feeling is already there.

  10. Thank you so much much for translating this sad/cute/somber/happy/creepy story! Those villagers were so despicable! Weiwei taking revenge was a nice twist! And them now living happily ever after (probably)! Gonna go read that 404 unit one-shot! Thanks for wonderful translation! Hope you have a nice day! ♥️

  11. I’m glad Guoguo adjusted with his life now rather than keep being miserable. Enjoyed being pampered by his Ghost Husband is great way to life!
And glad knowing Wei Ran let Wei Wei get her revenge!!!
    Happy for Everyone!!!
    HOT AND ABSOLUTELY GREAT NOVEL!!!

  12. Glad they all got their preferred and or just end. Even Wei Wei in a way. Everything was also connected. Pacing and length just right too. And it includes smut. Besides the obsession and ml’s beastly performance in bed, at least he seems normal and devoted, the perfect househusband. Thank you for the story! :’) Backwater villages and their customs are indeed creepy and mind boggling and erm eerie creative
